What we’re looking for…
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in providing the best primary veterinary care possible within the resources available to the client, alongside a passion for building a respectful and trusting relationship with pet owners. While sound basic surgical and clinical skills are essential for our team, we expect and support areas of individual interest and further development.
- You’ll have the essential skills in veterinary care, combined with a willingness to take personal responsibility for further development.
- You’re able to perform routine consultations and surgery with an awareness to seek advice and support as appropriate.
- We need you to collaborate closely with the team and external specialists, including our peripatetic cardiologist, to ensure seamless patient care.
- You’ll be able to communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations and building trusting relationships.
- You can take the initiative in identifying opportunities to expand our services and grow our client base.
- We want you to contribute to the overall development and success of the practice, with the potential for future leadership.
- You have a methodological and timely approach to maintaining medical notes and records.
- You’ll have a genuine passion for continuous improvement, you are resourceful at using time to stay up-to-date on medical knowledge with a focus on personal development and sharing this within the team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Veterinary degree and registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
- Essential skills and experience in basic veterinary clinical skills, with the ability to perform routine consultations.
- Good competency in surgical skills, with the flexibility to support a variety of clinical cases.

Salary & Benefits
- As standard, we offer 5 weeks of holiday inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata). CPD allowance of £1,000 plus expenses per annum alongside your RCVS and BVA or BSAVA fees paid.
- The basic salary on offer will be aligned to your level of experience and overall requirements, and our current salary range is between £40,000 – £60,000 per annum.
